How to read the score

For most VCE analytical writing, aim for a Flesch Reading Ease around 45–60 (roughly Year 10–12). Lower isn't "smarter" — it usually means sentences have grown too long. If the grade level jumps well above 12, look for a sentence you can split.

Readable isn't the same as strong

A clear sentence can still make a weak argument. Get the argument checked too.
